So Far So good

I was stuck between a Canon S5IS and the H50. I went with the H50 and think I made the better choice. It does very well in low light and its movie mode looks great also. Its kind of BS that you dont get composite cables with the camera, but I can live with that. infared mode is cool, but not useful. Although it actually was able to take a green (blair witch looking photo) in a completely dark room. Upgrading from a fuji Finepix 40 and an fuji E550, anyhting would look beter to me :)

I'm satisfied...

My boyfriend bought this camera and we really enjoy it. We are not professional photographers or anything close to it, but, I think it's pretty easy to use and understand. I think the average consumer will enjoy this camera and its features. I like the 15x optical zoom/30x digital zoom feature.

no flash hot shoe?

No flash hot shoe. No manual zoom. It has face detection if that matters.

It's a pretty good camera but it doesnt strike me as a significantly better camera especially when you consider other cameras like the Panasonic DMC-FZ50 which has been out for nearly 2 years.

Only downside is its alot heavier than the standard laptop and the power supply is like a power station (Its massive). I suppose then its a trade off with functionality. After all this machine flies!!" - review
