PRESS RELEASE:

HONG KONG
, CHINA - December 4, 2006 - Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. today unveiled three new additions to the Ultra portfolio: Ultra Music, Ultra Video, and Ultra Messaging.

The Samsung Ultra Music is a complete music player with superb sound quality. It is equipped with digital power amp offering dedicated music user interface that makes it easy to navigate through the song list. Additionally, it has a stereo FM radio and a Quick PC Sync allowing users to create a music library and play lists. Ultra Music still has all the extra features consumers have come to expect, including a 2.0 mega-pixel camera, long-lasting battery life and Bluetooth. The handset design is clever, with a dual face that's both unique and stylish. On one side is a large, clear screen with a sweep touch key that makes navigation very intuitive. On the other side is the fully functional phone that can be used while listening to music.

The Samsung Ultra Video is the ultimate personal multimedia device. It is the first phone to support the DivX codec, allowing users to view a large array of video content including MPEG-4, H.264, WMV and AVI files. It also has a PMP function with wide 2.4” screen as well as a 2.0 mega-pixel camera. The Ultra Video has a smart design to go with its cutting-edge features. Like the Ultra Music, it's got dual faces - one side is a phone while the other contains a large screen and intuitive controls for multimedia. It has a unique swivel design for multimedia content. The screen swivels away from the controls to adjust the viewing angle or form a stand to place the device down. It has an internal memory of 400 MBs and the memory is expandable up to 2GBs using the microSD card. With 2GBs of memory, it enables the user to view about 2 movies (each about two hours long.)

Finally, Samsung Ultra Messaging is a robust, slim, smart device that blends the feature-rich, desktop functionality of the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform with multimedia capabilities so users can work on the go, stay in touch with family and friends or just have some fun. This perfect balance of work and play makes the Ultra Messaging desirable to both the mobile business professional and the general consumer who also requires more data-driven functions such as e-mail, music and video.

Ultra Messaging is the first smartphone that runs on the HSDPA network, allowing for faster data transfer speeds. It is also the first smartphone to support web applications such as podcasting RSS Feeder. The device offers high-speed connectivity through WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR allowing faster connections for faster communications. All of these features are packed into a slim design, also including a MP3 player and built-in voice recognition. The Ultra Messaging is a true messaging device. It is equipped with a QWERTY keypad with wheel key, perfectly designed for composing messages or e-mails.

Kitae Lee, President of Samsung's Telecommunications Network Business, explained: “Samsung's latest additions to the Ultra Edition have the best of design and technology in each phone. All three products exemplify the convergence of myriad technologies in mobile phones. These products are tailor-made to satisfy consumers' needs whether it be music, video or messaging.”

He added: “We will continue to lead the wireless industry with premier technologies and innovative products to enhance consumer's lifestyles.”
